BOSTON (CBS/AP) – Several events will mark Memorial Day across the state Monday.
Here are just a few of them:
On Boston Common, there 37,000 American flags on display, each one a tribute to a man or woman from Massachusetts killed in battles dating back to the Revolutionary War.
In Hyde Park, services will be held at Fairview Cemetery at 11 a.m.
The day’s activities begin with an 8 a.m. service at the Fogg-Roberts American Legion Post 78 on Harvard Avenue.
Participants will then march to a Mass at Most Precious Blood Parish on Maple Street and then return to the post for the start of a tour of local veteran’s squares.
The procession will end up at the Civil War Memorial at Fairview Cemetery.
A Memorial Day observance will also be held at Evergreen Cemetery on Commonwealth Avenue in Brighton, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
